Does Incredible Connection have genuine sales, or is the discount off an inflated price?

It varies by item, and the gap can be wide. Across the 49 Incredible Connection deals we have tracked long enough to judge, the typical badge is 55% off, but measured against the price the item actually holds, the median real saving is R100 (25%). The rest of that percentage is calculated off a was-price we have not seen the item reach. We show both numbers on every deal so the badge does not do the deciding.

What is the biggest genuine Incredible Connection price drop SaleDrop has recorded?

Right now the deepest genuine Incredible Connection saving we are showing is 92% below the usual price: Cricut Joy Card Mat 1-pack, now R10 against the R119 it usually sells at. That is measured off the price the item genuinely held, not the advertised was-price.

How many Incredible Connection deals is SaleDrop tracking right now?

We are tracking 49 Incredible Connection deals at 50% or more off, priced from R10 to R8,999, up to 92% off. Of those, 49 have enough recorded history for us to judge the saving, and 45 are at the lowest price we have on record.

How do I know if a Incredible Connection deal is actually a good price?

Ignore the percentage badge and look at two figures we record: the lowest price we have ever seen the item at, and the price it usually holds. If the current price is at or near that recorded low and clearly below the usual price, the saving is real. Our method is on the how-we-verify page.

How Incredible Connection sales really work

Incredible Connection is a technology retailer, so the catalogue is laptops, TVs, audio, smart-home, appliances and the usual long tail of cables and accessories. Electronics is the category where an inflated was-price is most common and most costly, because a single one-day spike in the recorded price can make a routine price look like a deep cut.

We treat the recorded high with suspicion and judge each deal against the price the item genuinely held. The honest buys are models sitting at or near their lowest recorded price; the accessories and odd one-day markdowns are where the fake-saving traps cluster, and we flag them rather than feature them.

On big-ticket tech, compare the deal against the recorded low and the usual price, not the was-price.
Be wary of a huge percentage on a cheap accessory; that is where inflated anchors are most common.
Model cycles matter: last-generation laptops and TVs get the deepest genuine clearances.
