Which SA stores give genuine discounts?
Store by store, measured from our own price records.
We count a deal as genuine when the item is at, or close to, the lowest price we have on record and meaningfully below what it usually sells for. Here is how the stores we track compare on that measure, using only items with enough history to judge.
| Store | Genuine deals | At record low | Deepest discount | Typical saving |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| American Swiss | 206 | 202 | 75% | R500 |
| Sterns | 148 | 143 | 71% | R525 |
| Woolworths Witchery | 28 | 27 | 75% | R400 |
| Galaxy & Co | 26 | 26 | 57% | R154 |
| Woolworths Trenery | 22 | 20 | 67% | R1,000 |
| Woolworths Country Road | 13 | 12 | 67% | R701 |
| Incredible Connection | 11 | 11 | 73% | R330 |
| Archive | 7 | 7 | 53% | R600 |
"Typical saving" is the median rand difference between the current price and the price each item usually holds, so a few extreme outliers do not skew it.
